When it came to selecting the organisation that we, as helloAFRICA, would work with, it was natural to choose one that operated in a variety of fields in the same manner as helloAFRICA operates in many destinations in Southern Africa. This brought us to Ikamva Labantu. www.ikamva.com
As a company we have committed to contributing to Ikamva Labantu’s Youth Skills Development Programme. In addition to our corporate contribution, the helloAFRICA staff matched this contribution. The cornerstone of this programme is developing youth and giving them opportunities to learn and grow and become valuable contributing citizens of South Africa, as they are the future of our nation. Ikamva Labantu supports several community-based youth programmes that provide youth with “skills for life”.
We have chosen to support youth development as we feel that it secures the future of South Africa. More and more visitors to South Africa are interested in sustainable development and becoming more aware of global green issues. It is by involving our guests with community-based programmes that they become aware of the impact that they have had on these communities, and armed with this knowledge they go back to their home country with a better insight and the satisfaction of knowing that they have changed a person’s life for the better!
